Our own Fred started off the season with a beautiful 4 x 4 Mulie in Velvet.  Guide Cam drew an archery tag in one of our trophy areas and harvested a beautiful 180 class 6 x 7. Dave Holt, technical editor of Bowhunter Magazine harvested a beautiful Pope and Young mule deer. He saw numerous trophy bucks before making a perfect shot on this buck.  Our other hunter, Chuck from California, saw 8 different P & Y class animals. He passed several small bucks and had one close call on a 190" monster.

1st Season:  Continuing our 100% success rate from our trophy season. We went 100% for 1st season rifle elk as well. We went 4 for 4 in the first two days of the hunt. The bulls were everywhere and still bugling.

2nd Season:  This week we have 9 Elk hunters,  1 Combo Elk/Deer hunter.  8 of the 9 hunter  have either killed elk or have had shot opportunities with  three 300 class bulls  taken, also, one  6 x 3, a 5 x 3 and a spike. We also had three missed shots.    We will be posting more photos this week.

3rd Season:  This week we had 11 Elk hunters (3 of them also had deer tags) Three of our hunters scored on nice bulls while the others had many close calls this week, with 1 hunter passing on 2 different bulls.  The weather turned hot the last 3 days pushing the elk in earlier in the morning and had them coming out just at dark, making the last three days a little tougher.

4th Season: Out of 5 hunters, one guy had bad luck and was our first client to not get into elk. 2 other clients saw numerous elk and had some close calls and 2 hunters shot on opening day with one of them harvesting a nice 5 x 5 and the other missing a nice bull.  So 4th season we were 2 out of 5 despite warm weather prevailing.

Our trophy hunts started off with a bang.  With our first two clients both harvesting 300 class bulls in the first two days of their hunt. Father and Son, Kim and Justin from Oregon both went home with beautiful bulls.

Our second two hunters also both harvested beautiful 6 x 6 bulls.  19 year old Tate from Texas with his dad watching harvested his first elk ever with guide Cam on the first day of his hunt.  John also from Texas harvested his largest bull ever with guide Jake on the second day of his hunt. John had a close call on day 1 with a 360 class bull at 24 yards. This is the 4th year in a row we have been 100% on our trophy rifle elk hunts.

1st Week

Our first 4 elk hunters did incredible when it came to number of elk seen. Combined they saw over 40 bulls. Lots of close calls and one hunter passed up a 5 x 5 at 35 yards in an attempt to harvest a larger 6 x 6 that was behind him.  Unfortunately it never panned out. Even though all hunters saw bulls no shots were fired. Our own Fred Eichler after 5 days managed to shoot a nice 300+ bull on video.

 2nd Week

Again this week all 3 of our hunters saw multiple bulls with a couple of really close calls. All three had a great time and are anxious to come back and try again.

 3rd Week

We had 4 hunters this week and the first 20 minutes of the first day Steve from Utah harvested a beautiful bull that guide Jake called in for him. The last day of the hunt Diane from PA shot a beautiful 6 x 6 bull with her recurve that guide Dick called in to 11 yards for her.  Our other two hunters  saw bulls in the 300 + class and Jeff from Utah passed on a cow elk that guide Jake called into 8 yards. Lots of close calls and lots of bulls seen by everyone.

4th Week

This week we had 6 hunters and had an awesome week although the elk all made it back to their beds. We had 5 shots missed and 2 hunters passed on small bulls (4x4 and 5x5) All hunters saw great elk and the guides had a blast working the rutting elk.

Aug 15-18 First Week

Antelope season started off rough with huge rains the day before season, we knew it was going to be tough. To make matters worse, just as it started to dry out, we got hammered with another huge rain storm. Out of our 10 guided hunters all saw antelope bucks, but only 4 of the ten had shot opportunities within 25 yards. Two guys missed, one passed a small buck twice and Jason from Illinois harvested a nice goat.  There are a ton of bucks running around but unfortunately there is water everywhere.

Aug 20-23 Second Week

Amazingly enough we had even more rain on the 19th making conditions even worse. Due to flooded pastures we had to resort to trying some spot and stalk hunting. A few guys came close and a few guys decided to stick it out in the blinds despite the flooded conditions. Out of 8 hunters  one passed a legal but small buck and 2 others had tough shots on stalked antelope leaving with only 3 out of 8 even having opportunities. It has been our worse antelope season yet.  The up side is that every hunter saw 20-50 bucks and were all very understanding about the poor weather conditions.  Things are starting to slowly dry up and we are hoping things pick up.

Aug 25-28 Third Week

It still continues to rain making travel through the pastures from tough to impossible. Flooded pastures continue to make antelope hunting extremely tough. Despite the bad conditions our seven antelope hunters didn't get skunked. 3 guys from Texas managed to go 3 for 3 on shots with Mike harvesting a beautiful buck.  Daryl from Michigan harvested a nice buck with his recurve. Our other three antelope hunters were not so lucky and only 1 was able to harvest a buck. One of the guys was skunked with nothing even coming close and the other hunter had some close but no shots. After six long days in wet conditions our own Michele Eichler managed to shoot with her recurve the only buck to come into the water.

 Last Group of Antelope Hunters

Out of our last 4 hunters one couple from Kansas stayed in the same blind hunting together and managed to get a shot but no cigar. Dennis from NJ harvested his first Antelope Buck on the first day of his hunt and Tom from PA had another rough hunt but did manage to get a shot at nice buck. Wet weather continues to plague us with some blinds still under water, but we ended on three out of four with shots and one buck harvested.  Our own Fred Eichler after 10 tough days of hunting managed to harvest a nice lope as well.

Non-guided Antelope Hunters

We had six non-guided hunters this season. Where we supply blinds already set up on private land. The wet weather plagued them as well. Out of six hunters one left after two days of rain and one hunter, Kevin from GA managed to harvest a buck. The others stuck out the rough conditions but didn't have any opportunities.

2006 Nebraska and Colorado Turkey

Nebraska-

1st week Nebraska turkey hunting started out with unseasonable snowy conditions.  In spite of that we were 100% on shots and 4 out of the 5 hunters harvested turkeys. Our second week both our hunters  harvested beautiful Nebraska birds. Third week was also great with both our hunters harvesting 2 birds each.  4th week both our hunters had numerous close shots on birds with one of them harvesting a nice tom.  Another amazing Nebraska turkey season for Fulldraw Outfitters with 100% shooting opportunities on numerous birds and 9 out of 11 hunters taking home archery harvested turkeys.

Colorado- our opening weekend shot gun hunters all had a blast. All three went home with beautiful Merriams turkeys. Next our Easter weekend hunters consisted of 3 shotgun hunters, one of which harvested a huge Merriams tom on his first morning and the other two  harvested nice birds on the  second day of their hunt and 3  bowhunters, all of which had close shots on birds with their bows, two of them took revenge by harvesting birds with shotguns on the last day. This weeks group consisted of 4 hunters from Texas,  All four took nice birds, two harvested their birds on the first morning and the last two harvested their birds on the second day.

Cam guided our last two turkey hunters Dan and Woody on the last 3 days of the season.  Both hunters took home beautiful Merriams gobblers.  This brought our Colorado total to 14 birds harvested and 100% shooting opportunities of all our hunters.
