This December deer season was slow for shooting, but incredible on animals seen. Our own Fred Eichler harvested a monster buck on video and our hunters all saw trophy bucks.  Dave from New Jersey passed 5 bucks and some does waiting for one of the 8 different Pope and Young bucks he saw during his hunt to come into range. Rob from Minnesota came close on a 180 class mule deer that spotted him lifting his bow.  He also passed on some small bucks and does.  Jerry from Minnesota saw  at least 3 different Pope and Young bucks and harvested a doe on the last evening of his hunt. Joel from New Jersey saw 8 different bucks on his hunt including a few monsters but nothing wandered in range. Michele had some close calls on some bucks and harvested a whitetail doe

Rifle Cow Elk- We just finished up with our 4 late season rifle cow elk hunters and all had a blast.  We had two cow elk harvested and several misses for a 100% opportunity on cow elk.

3rd Season was great, we had ten hunters out of 10 we have  4 elk harvested and three missed. We also had two of the elk hunters with deer tags and both had opportunities on nice bucks.  All in all a great 3rd season hunt.

2nd Season was awesome too!  We took 4 Elk out of 5 Elk Hunters for 80% on Elk.  Two of the Elk were taken in our new trophy area, a big 7x7 and 6 x 6.  We were 5 for 5 on our deer hunters for 100% success on Deer.  Check out some of the awesome photos on the link above.

1st Season Rifle Elk was awesome.  We were 100% on our hunters getting shots and harvested 3 bulls out of the four hunters.   All the guys saw multiple bulls and as usual we had a great time!!

1st Week of Archery Elk:  So far 1 hunter from Pennsylvania had a cow elk  at 25 yards, but no shot presented itself. Our own Fred Eichler harvested a nice 5x5 on a spot and stalk hunt for Easton Bowhunting TV on  opening day.

2nd Week of Archery Elk was great.  Our two hunters arrived and the first night one hunter Jerry harvested a mature cow.  On the second day our other hunter Rob took a nice 5x5 at a waterhole.  Michele Eichler harvested her first bull elk with guide Jake calling. So far our Archery Elk hunters are 4 out of 5.

3rd Week Jim & Trent from Pennsylvania had a great hunt! They saw a ton of elk and both had extremely close encounters. Although three shots were taken unfortunately they headed home without an elk.

4th  Week Dennis from Pennsylvania came out had some close calls with several elk. Dennis had one shot but the elk lucked out.

Non-guided Hunters: We had three non-guided elk hunters, Jason and Richard from New York and Mac from Texas.  All three had close calls with shots on elk but were not able to connect.

So for archery elk we ended up taking 9 hunters 2 harvested elk, 6 hunters either had shots or had legal elk within 25 yards and one hunter had no opportunities.  A great elk season all in all we already can't wait till next year.

1st Week of Antelope went great!!  Lots of shots.  We had six hunters and they each had at least two shots on bucks within 25 yards.  Our hunters harvested 3 bucks and all left with some good stories.

2nd Week of Antelope:  8 Guided hunters had a rough go of it as rain hammered us a few days.  We felt fortunate to have gotten six of the eight hunters shot opportunities.  Two hunters passed on small bucks.  Two hunters harvested bucks, one of them a monster P & Y approximately 74 inches and four hunters missed shots.  They were a great group of guys and despite a slow week the laughs never stopped.

We also had three non-guided hunters who all saw trophy bucks but with all the standing water, they didn't get a shot.

3rd Week of Antelope:  We had 8 guided hunters  this week.  6 out of the 8 took 13 shots at antelope.  Three antelope were harvested including one monster taken by Larry of Oklahoma. We also had two non-guided hunters who saw some nice bucks but did not harvest anything.

4th Week of Antelope we had 4 antelope hunters and three of the four harvested P & Y bucks even though we had some rain that made it a little tough.

5th Week of Antelope We had 5 hunters and numerous bucks were spotted and some passed on some smaller bucks. One killed a nice buck on the 3rd day. Michele Eichler killed her first buck on her second day of hunting.  On the first day she harvested a coyote that came into drink.

Colorado:

1st season in Colorado we got hit with the biggest blizzard of the season.  Nevertheless two out of three of our hunters scored on nice birds.  Courtney Olsen guided his dad to a big gobbler the very first day before the blizzard hit.  Our other hunter Nick Dedaker had several close calls, before making a great shot on his bird.

In the next group we had 4 hunters, all of which scored on nice birds.  Jim Pesavento was joined by his wife Connie on his hunt.  Joe Pritchett and his son along with Dave Loper all shot nice birds.

Last week our two hunters both scored on nice birds the first day of their hunt.  Cam Keeler and Fred Eichler guided Scott and Reagan who came up from Texas for their hunt. This season has been awesome with all of our hunters.

Our own Fred Eichler also shot a big Merriams Gobbler on video for his upcoming TV show "Easton Bowhunting with Fred Eichler" to complete the Turkey Slam of all four species in 5 weeks.

Nebraska:

1st season in Nebraska was a terrific success.  As usual there were tons of birds.  Our two hunters Kent Zocher and David Allen  both scored on nice birds.  They each had numerous shot opportunities under 25 yards during their three day hunt.

2nd season proved to be another great hunt.  Our 4 hunters from NY Bowhunters each had multiple shot opportunities with three nice birds harvested.

Our own Fred Eichler headed to Nebraska to film an episode of his new TV show Easton Bowhunting which will begin airing the end of June.  Fred shot two big gobblers.  On one of the hunts his wife Michele and son Trent (5 1/2 months) joined him.  Michele filmed the hunt while Dad harvested a mature gobbler. Trent helped call.  You can't start them too young!

All in all this was another amazing Nebraska spring turkey season.
