Mountain Lion Season:
In December we harvested one big Tom. Matt Rodhouse from Illinois drove 15
hours when conditions were prime and Fred had him on a lion the next
morning. By 4 pm the same day the lion was harvested and Matt was back on the road that
night headed home with his trophy.
Chris Parrino from Illinois had a few days in December to Lion
hunt, he passed on a female lion as he had already harvested a cat with us last
year. Chris plans on coming back to try and find a big tom.
The first week of January our hunter Enrique was here from the
Philippines. Weather was rough, but guide Cam and Enrique ran a large tom
the last day of the hunt, but the cat won.
This week Dan from Missouri came in and had an exciting hunt
as guides Cam and Jake teamed up to help Dan harvest a nice mtn lion.
Guide Fred called in a coyote that Dan shot at twenty yards also.
Weather has been tough this year so far. We are waiting for
snow so conditions will be favorable for tracking. As soon as the snow hits we
will be hitting it hard again.
The last hunter Larry Zimmerman drove up from Texas for the
last snow of Mountain lion season. Larry and guide Cam ran a nice track
but a hot day and a south facing slope put an end to the chase.
Rifle and Archery Deer

- First Week: We had two rifle deer hunters, Terry
and Todd Mayer of Pennsylvania. The unseasonably hot weather
made the hunting a little tough as some of the big mulies we had scouted weren't
moving well in the heat. However, both took real nice bucks during their 5
day hunt.
- Second Week:
This week we had 2 Archery hunters and 2 Rifle hunters. Both rifle hunters, Kim
and Justin Ward took nice bucks on the last day. Both archery hunters have had Pope & Young
bucks within 30 to 40 yards of their stands, but no luck getting a shot.
- Third Week: This
has been an awesome week, we have 4 archery hunters and 1 rifle hunter in camp.
Dwight Schuh, Editor of Bowhunter Magazine took a Pope & Young Buck on
Video, Our own Fred Eichler harvested a Pope and Young buck on video and the
third bowhunter Dave Butler from NJ
harvested a big non-typical. The 4th bowhunter saw numerous bucks,
including a big P& Y but no shots presented themselves. Our rifle hunter
passed up
numerous bucks including a typical 170 class buck, and chose to harvest a
huge 2 x 2 for a unique trophy to add to his wall.
- Fourth Week:
We have 1 archery hunter in Camp, so far he has seen lots of bucks but has
not had a shot.
Rifle Elk

- First Season: First week of Rifle Elk we had six hunters. We
harvested one Monster 8 x 4, one Non-typical 4 x 3 with a huge drop tine
club and one big typical 6 x 6. We also had one bull missed at twenty yards
! All our hunters saw bulls and the ones that
didn't fill their tags had bulls within 150 yards, but no shot presented
itself. Bulls are still bugling and six bears were seen this week as
well. Be sure to check out the success photos.
- Second Season: So far during second season we have had two nice bulls
taken as well as a nice mule deer buck.
- Third Season:
Our two Elk hunters both harvested nice elk for 100% on the Elk. Mike
Frederick who came out just for deer harvested a nice deep forked 4 x 4
Mulie.
- Fourth Season: We
had ten hunters in camp and all saw good bulls and six harvested good
bulls and two bulls have been missed. This was a great week with our
hunters going 80% on opportunities.
- Late Season Cow Elk : Our
first two Cow Elk hunters, father and son, Larry and Josh Norton took only
two days to fill their tags. We have traditionally enjoyed 100% success on
these hunts.

- We had 10 archery elk hunters, we had 3 bulls harvested, 2
5x5's and 1 6x6. We had one cow missed at 20 yards. We also had one 5
x 5 passed up at twenty yards. For archery elk we
had 50% shot opportunities 90% on seeing bulls and had a ton of close
calls. Be sure to check out success photos.
- We have one late season Archery Elk hunter in Camp. So far
he has seen several bulls and missed one.
Archery Antelope
View success photos
- The first week of Antelope season was great! Out of ten hunters we
took six trophy bucks. Two other hunters had shots and everyone saw
multiple trophy bucks.
- The second week started off with an inch of rain, which made the hunting a
little tough. Out of 7 hunters we had two nice bucks killed but all
but one hunter had an opportunity at legal bucks.
- We had five hunters for the third week of the Season. Once again
rain on the second day made it a little tough but all but one hunter had
shot opportunities and we had numerous misses. 2 Hunters took nice bucks.
- Fourth week was great in spite of one day of heavy rain our hunters went
four for four. All scoring on Antelope. One of them taking a buck that will score over 70".
- The fifth week was AWESOME! Finally the weather cooperated and 5 out
of our 6 hunters scored on some big Bucks all in the first two days of
hunting. Our sixth hunter saw numerous bucks including getting
video of a huge Boone & Crocket Buck that came within 35 yards but only
gave him a head on shot. All in all it was a great week.
Nebraska Turkey
View success photos
- Our Nebraska archery turkey season opened with a bang on March 25.
With 8 hunters in camp we harvested 9 birds and a new record 39 shots taken
in 3 days. With the weather on our side ( temps in the mid to high 80's) the
birds were responsive to our calls and the toms were gobblin' up a storm.
- In our second hunt the action didn't slow down. We had 5 traditional
archery hunters with 3 of them taking birds and the other 2 having numerous
shots under 20 yards. We noticed this week that the birds had started to
break up from their large numbered winter flocks and were getting easier to
work with our calls.
- Our last week in Nebraska went great. We had 5 traditional
bowhunters and 3 out of the 5 harvested birds with 100% shooting
opportunities.
Colorado Turkey
- 1st week: We had 2 hunters this
week. Our 1 traditional archery hunter had 4 shots taken at a mature
gobbler in the snow. Our second hunter tried to get close enough with
his shotgun but the birds just weren't cooperating, although he did see some
nice birds.
- 2nd week: High winds helped us have our
worst turkey hunt ever as far as birds were concerned! We did,
however, have a blast with a fun group of bowhunters from Easton and
Hoyt. Only 3 out of the 8 saw birds and only 1 had a shot opportunity
for the group.
- 3rd week: Weather switched up and 3
guys harvested 2 birds with the 3rd hunter passing up a tom on the first
morning. Good thing we did so well on the first day because a late
winter storm came barging in and dropped nearly 2 FEET of snow shutting down
the hunt for the final 2 days.
